Hamdallah Announces Retirement from Morocco National Team After Arab Cup Victory

Abdelrazzak Hamdallah, player of the Morocco national team, has announced his retirement from international football. The 35-year-old Hamdallah scored two goals that led the Atlas Lions to win the 2025 Arab Cup final against Jordan after coming on as a substitute. At a press conference after the match, Hamdallah said: "This is my last match in the Morocco national team shirt." He added: "I am very happy with this title, which compensates for the difficult years with the national team, in which I wished to be present and contribute." Hamdallah continued: "Unfortunately, the participation came late, and most importantly, it happened in the end." He concluded: "We dedicate this cup to the King. Today, I and my teammates have sent aid to the families of the victims in the city of Asfi." Previously, Hamdallah had announced his retirement from the national team in 2019 after being excluded from the squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but he reversed his decision and was part of the Morocco team that finished fourth in the 2022 World Cup.
