Morocco Strengthens Diplomatic Ties with Cabo Verde

Recently, Morocco has strengthened its diplomatic alliances and received international support for its Negotiation Proposal for an Autonomy Plan regarding the conflict in the Sahara. This backing consolidates the international recognition of the Moroccan proposal as the only viable way to resolve the situation in the region.

Cape Verde reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Morocco, highlighting the promotion of a strategic partnership based on mutual respect and economic cooperation. On the other hand, Albania, Kazakhstan, and Cape Verde joined the international support for the Moroccan proposal, which strengthens the Kingdom's diplomatic position in the Maghreb region and beyond.

Albania recognized the importance of the conflict in the Sahara for Morocco and praised the Kingdom's efforts in seeking an acceptable solution under the framework of the United Nations. For its part, Kazakhstan unequivocally expressed support for Morocco's sovereignty and territorial integrity, backing the Autonomy Plan presented by the country in 2007.

In contrast, the Polisario Front, under the tutelage of Algeria, has lost international support in favor of a dissident group, the Sahrawi Movement for Peace, which advocates for a peaceful dialogue with Morocco and accepts the Autonomy Proposal as a fair solution to the conflict in the Sahara region.

These international endorsements strengthen Morocco's position as a leader in the region and as a promoter of stability and economic development in Africa. The recent recognitions of the Autonomy Proposal reinforce its credibility as a serious and feasible solution to resolve the conflict in the Sahara. This has been made possible thanks to the strategic vision of King Mohammed VI, who has successfully led the country's diplomatic efforts.
