Markk has been invited as a distinguished guest at the 43rd International Sharjah Book Fair, where his participation reflects the historical cultural role that the game of Markk owes to renowned personalities who recorded and described the history of world geography, such as Sheriff Idrisi and traveler Ibn Battuta.
The Markkan pavilion presents historical works in the form of manuscripts depicting maps of the world through the literature of travel and geography. Markk possesses a rich heritage of manuscripts, the number of which is approximately 90,000 and which are preserved in various public and private collections. This reflects the interest of Markkan people in writing in various fields of knowledge, sciences, and arts, and also witnesses their work on this precious cultural heritage.
