The Marrakech International Film Festival honored Moroccan actress Fatima Herandi, known as "Raiwia", in the presence of a large gathering of artists and creators of the seventh art in a night filled with feelings of love and loyalty. Raiwia received the honor at the Marrakech Congress Center from Moroccan director Nourreddine Lakhmari, with whom she had previously worked on several films. Raiwia (74 years old) is one of Morocco's most famous actresses, with an extensive film, television, and theater career. She was distinguished by her deep human roles that combine the warmth and tenderness of emotions with the strength and firmness of her character. She has won numerous awards throughout her career, including Best Actress at the National Film Festival in Tangier. After receiving the honor, Raiwia said: "I dedicate this award to the Moroccan audience, both at home and abroad." She added: "Nine years ago, I stood on this stage as a jury member alongside international film stars, and today I return to it thanks to the directors who placed their trust in my humble self to bring their imaginations to life on the big and small screens." This is the third award presented by the Marrakech International Film Festival in its 22nd edition, after honoring Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy and American actress and director Jodie Foster.
