The previous news reported on the visit to schools in Marakkesh and the distribution among children of carefully selected books within the framework of the initiative "Kan-yama Kan" of the Youth Book Council of the OIC. The purpose of the visits was to support children from remote areas with a selection of carefully chosen books capable of addressing their minds and feelings, providing them with the opportunity to enjoy and learn together.

The diverse books included themes of literature, science, self-development, as well as inspiring fictional and educational stories, instilling humanitarian values and inspiring children on critical thinking, exploration, and creativity. The president of the Youth Book Council of the OIC, Marua al-Ukrubi, noted that each book presented to the child is a seed, sowing in the fertile soil of their consciousness. She also emphasized the importance of presenting books relevant to the interests of Arab children and strengthening ties with their identity, while being open to other cultures in a positive and respectful manner.

The initiative "Kan-yama Kan" distributed five mini-libraries with thousands of Arabic books for children and adolescents to several schools in Marakkesh in collaboration with the Marakkesh Youth Book Council. This was done as part of the council’s efforts to provide children with access to knowledge, relevant to their needs and developing their skills.

The project covered five schools in different districts of Marakkesh, where each library was equipped with two hundred high-quality books specifically selected to cater to different age groups of children and adolescents. The distribution of these libraries is not a temporary project but a long-term commitment to forming conscious readers and informed generations.

This initiative has continued previous projects of the Youth Book Council of the OIC in Morocco. In November 2023, during participation in the International Exhibition of Children's and Youth Books in Casablanca, the initiative "Kan-yama Kan" distributed thousands of books among the participating schools "Mula'i Ismail" in the town of Safi. The books open up for children windows to new worlds of imagination, knowledge, and hope.
